 While applying to universities either Online or offline, you mainly need to concentrate on the documents you require to send along with the application. Only after processing the documents will the universities issue an offer letter. 1. Application Form

Universities in Italy will either have an online or a paper application form. These have to fill out and submitted before the deadline.

2. Academic Documents

Attested copies of all your mark sheets of X, XII & Graduate Degrees (if applicable), and Mark Sheets including Backlogs (Re-sits). You can submit the final year or final semester mark sheet later if you are currently studying in the final year.

3. Transcript

The transcript is the official document confirming your grades, class standing, and completion of a specific course of study. Your transcript will be used to verify your academic records and as evidence of enrollment for purposes of requesting student aid such as loans or grants.

4. Language Proficiency Test Scores

Italian Universities offer programs in both Italian and English. Some courses in Italian Universities teach in Italian, but the assignments and exams are taken in English. There are two types of exams taken for both languages. The Italian courses ask for the tests like:

• CILS: Certification of Italian as a Second Language
• CELI: Certificate of Knowledge of Italian Language

For English Language requirements at Italian University, the below tests are taken:

• TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language
• TOEIC: Test of English for International Communication
• IELTS: International English Language Testing System
• C1 Advanced: previously known as Cambridge English: Advanced

Students who can prove that they studied for their Bachelor’s degree in English (At least three years) and do not have to take any English language test, and can study in Italy without IELTS.

5. Other Entrance exams

GRE is not required to study in Italy. However, if you have a score, then it improves your admission chances. Submit standardized tests score, for example, GMAT or GRE (if applicable). Only some MBA programs may need the GMAT. 

6. Recommendation Letters (LORs)

A letter of recommendation is one that has been asked to be written about us. Universities ask for letters of recommendation to know what other people think about you and to evaluate your qualifications for admission. Choose the right candidate to approach for a reference letter so you can ace an admission. You will fall down the ladder with a depressing LOR.

7. Statement of Purpose (SOP)

The Statement of Purposes is a short essay that outlines one's professional and research objectives as well as any steps they have taken thus far to achieve them. You must explain through your SOP why you choose this course, why you chose that specific university, what you want to do after the course, your interests, and other personal information. A strong Statement of Purpose will be the key to your way into the university. So take a reasonable amount of time before you submit the SOP.

8. Resume

Preferably one page highlighting your work experience, educational qualifications, interests, and additional courses or activities you have done. 

9. Project Description or Portfolio

A project description or a portfolio is only required for specialized programs, like a Master of Research or a Master of Science degree. When applying for a Master's degree in the arts, design, or architecture, portfolios are necessary. Universities ask for this portfolio to know your experience and talent in your field of study. They will also look at your work and the type of projects you carried through. A project description is required when applying to a program that will end with a research thesis.

10. Extra-curricular Activities Certificates

In addition to the documents on this Checklist, you may send any additional supporting documents you have, such as paper presentations, certificates, etc. The most minor award will push your application a little more competitive. Therefore, attach certificates outlining your skills and extracurricular activities with your admission application. 

The exact document requirements vary depending on the university and program you choose, so be sure to check with the school for their particular requirements. However, most Italian universities will require some or all of the above-mentioned documents.
