QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKING 2022
QS Quacquarelli Symonds, an analyst of global higher education has released the QS World University Ranking 2022 report on the 08th of June. It is the world’s most referred and most covered source of comparative information about university performance of the world. QS has designed its rankings which evaluate the performance of the university according to what it believes to be the main purpose. They are teaching, nurturing, research, employability, and internationalization. Here are its highlights of QS World University Ranking 2022
Highlights of the QS World University Ranking 2022 report
The QS World University Rankings 2022 features the top 1,300 universities of the world. These universities are from 80 different locations around the world.
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology has maintained its first position being the world’s best university for an unbroken decade.
- The United States of America is home to the most number of Top ranking universities with a total of 177 universities, including 19 new entries in the 2022 list.
- Stanford and Harvard University have recorded a decline while the University of Oxford climbed from the 5th in the 2021 edition to the 2nd in the 2022 edition.
- Stanford University and the University of Cambridge shared the third position.
- The top 3 universities in Europe are from the UK, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Imperial College London.
- The top 2 universities in Asia are from Singapore, National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) Singapore, and Tsinghua University stands at 3rd position in Asia. Only these 3 Asian universities are in the global top 20
- The top 3 universities in Canada are the University of Toronto standing at 26th position, McGill University at 27th, and the University of British Columbia at 46th.
